Joel Kiekintveld, Senior Pastor

Joel Kiekintveld is the Founding Director of Parachutes Teen Club and Resource Center (Anchorage, AK). Parachutes serves teens ages thirteen to eighteen years old. Many of the active members of the drop-in center are high-risk and street involved. Kiekintveld has been with Parachutes from its inception previously serving as Program Director (2003-2006) and Executive Director (2006-2016). Kiekintveld is also the Teaching Pastor of Crosspoint Community Church. Kiekintveld has served as a Youth Pastor in both Michigan and Alaska. Kiekintveld is an adjunct professor at Alaska Bible College as well as having taught High School Bible classes for a number of years.

Kiekintveld is currently a PhD candidate in Practical Theology at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and holds a Master of Arts in Global Urban Ministry degree from Bakke Graduate University, Bachelor of Religious Education degree from Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College), and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from The Foraker Group/ University of Alaska Fairbanks. Kiekintveld was ordained as a Commissioned Pastor by the Christian Reformed Church in 2008.

Kiekintveld lives, works and plays in Anchorage, AK where he and his wife Stacey, and their three daughters Naomi, Emma and Sydney live in intentional community in the Dimond Estates trailer park.
